Norske Skog Saugbrugs
Halden, Norway
Saugbrugsforeningen was founded in 1859 as originally a collection of numerous sawmills that had existed for centuries along the Tista waterfalls. Saugbrugs became part of Norske Skog in 1989. During the 1990's the Saugbrugs mill invested almost NOK 4 billion in the new PM6. Today, Norske Skog Saugbrugs is one of the largest and most modern production units of SC magazine paper in the world. However, PM6 has been idled since 27 April 2023 when a rockslide hit the machinery and building construction. Saugbrugs restarted PM5 in November 2023 to serve SC customers.
