UN Global compact
Norske Skog ASA rejoined the UN Global Compact in 2022. Initiated in 1999 by the UN and its former Secretary General, Kofi Annan, the UN Global Compact is based today on 10 principles relating to human and employee rights and the environment.
The Global Compact embraces a worldwide network of enterprises, governments, unions, civil organisations and the UN, which is dedicated to dialogue and coordinated action to promote a sustainable and inclusive global economy.
The Global Compact is a purely voluntary initiative with two objectives:
- Mainstream the ten principles in business activities around the world
- Catalyse actions in support of UN goals
Our core values of openness, honesty and cooperation as well as our policies and guidelines build on the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 10 principles of UN Global Compact.
